Fresh green vegetable juice with apple

This fresh green juice recipe is great for the morning, refreshing and so healthy. Although there is some fruit it is still a fresh vegetable juice. There are several reasons why it is super healthy for you. The vitamin C in the lemon helps you to absorb the iron from the greens. The apples make it just sweet enough. It is made with several ingredients that your are likely to have on hand: celery, cucumber, lettuce, lemon, apples. You can feel free to substitute the lettuce for more greens, etc.

Recipe for Fresh Green Vegetable Juice

Yield: Makes about 3 cups of juice

Equipment: Any standard vegetable juicer

Ingredients:

  • 2-4 stalks of celery
  • 1 bunch (8-12 leaves) kale
  • 1 large cucumber
  • ½ head lettuce if you have
  • juice of 1/2 peeled and seeded lemon
  • 2-4 apples (optional and amount depends on size and your sweet tongue)
  • 1 small-medium zucchini (optional)

Tips:

  • feed the kale and the lettuce through the juicer at the same time as other, more watery veggies
  • save the celery towards the end because the fibers tend to clog juicers
